Whoa... What day is tomorrow?

Well, this last week has been incredible. It has gone by way slow, yet way fast at the same time! So first off, this photo is one of me and my "son" eating pizza together for the first time. It was such a special moment. His name is Anziano Ryan Bunker from Ceder Hills! We get along great. We like a ton of the same stuff, and just basically joke around all day long with each other. It great. He played football, so he could kill me if he wanted to, so its a good thing that we get along.

So far it has been more fun than I thought it would be to be a trainer. Its a blast just watching him walk around, wide eyed, just saying "whoa... I'm in Italy...." but the best part is the Greenie energy he brought with him. We are gonna have an awesome transfer together, with a ton of success. It is already started off that way.

We had a lesson with Pietro the other day, and it went incredibly. He felt the spirit so strongly that he cried at the end, and said he would be baptised when he knew everything was true. But the story I wanted to tell actually happened immediately after him. We left his house, and went over to try and find Baldassere, a less-active member. I made us walk down the wrong street for some reason, and when we corrected ourselves, and finally made it to his house, he wasnt home. But we met a member who was there trying to visit him to. We ran into him at the exact same time. He had nothing to do, so he volunteered to come with us to visit this other family of investigators with us. And actually, it was the best thing that had ever happened for our relationship with this family. He just tore them apart with the spirit. They told him all about the hard times they were having, how they almost didnt want us to come over anymore, and just how they were feeling far from God. Our member friend, Mario, then sat and worked spiritual magic. He went from inviting them to pray, to reading the Book of Mormon, to coming to church, and then back again. He tied everything in to everything that they said, and in the end he had them basically asking to come to church on sunday. It was incredible. He became the key to this family I feel, all because I took a wrong street and managed to meet him at the right time. God works miracles.

We have decided to pick up a less active family and start teaching them again. In fact, they are members from just over a year ago, but have been inactive since I got here. We are hoping to bring them back. The Lord has plans for that family I feel, especially because when we saw them a couple days ago we got a new investigator out of the visit. His name is Giuseppe, and has been living in a "tunnel" for a long time he said, and he wants us to help him get of it. We have our first lesson with him today, so wish us luck!

Tomorrow is a crazy day, eh? One year ago, and wiser too(maybe), happy mission anniversary, to me!

Love ya!

Parenthood

Well, I never really thought about it before, but I have been really wondering what it feels like to be a parent expecting their first child to be born any day now. And ya know, since recieving Transfer calls, I have been thinking that how I feel is probably about as close to it as I can possibly get without actually being a parent. I'm gonna be a Father! Yep, thats right, I am training this next transfer! Who it is yet, I have no idea, but I will be finding out tomorrow when I pick him up at the train station in Catania. My transfer predictions came true. Anziano Nelson is getting moved to Siracusa, and I am staying in Trapani. I am way excited for this next transfer. I am gonna show my "son" the highlights of missionary life. Haha, man, he better hit the ground runnin' is all I gotta say.

It hasnt really been that long since I have emailed, the last time being on friday, so I dont really have much to talk about today. We had the 2nd ever Stake conference in Sicily on Sunday, which was really good. I enjoyed it alot, and I even got to sing in the choir. Dont worry, I sang quietly just in case so I wouldnt scare any children. I really enjoyed the talk that was given by Pres. Nudo, the stake president. He talked about forgiveness, and how we refuse to accept Jesus Christ as the Savior when we don't forgive someone, or when we dont repent.

Monday, we did exchanges in Palermo, and I got to go with Anziano Tinoco. It was one of my favorite exchanges so far. I learned alot from him. He is a really good missionary. In fact, he just became my new Zone Leader. He started the mission the same time as me a year ago, so he still has some time left.

I have been really thinking about Prayer lately, and I realise that it is probably one of my strongest testimonies. During Zone conference and during DDM, I realised that no matter what you do, Prayer should be the very first step to getting it done. We talked about desire during Zone conference. Bam, prayer helps. In DDM we talked about loving people. Bam, pray helps. So my invite to all of you who read this is to pray a little harder. Pray a little longer. Pray a little better. Everything goes better when you pray. I have seen it work in my life, especially my mission, so why wouldnt it work for you?

Anyways, I will write more next week. Love ya all!

P.S. The photo is a sunset here in Trapani.

Sup.

Well everybody, its a beautiful day in the neighborhood! Literally. It is even a little too beautiful. It is way hot outside here lol.

Sorry I am emailing a few days late, we had a Zone Conference in Catania, and because of how much traveling I had to do to get there I havent been able to find a computer until now.

The biggest announcement I have is we have a new baptismal date! Well, on Saturday, Anziano Nelson gave his first ever baptismal invite that was accepted! We were having a lesson with a less active member named Maurizio, and his brother was there during the lesson with us. We were just reading from the Book of Mormom, when I got the feeling that Anziano Nelson needed to invited Maurizio's brother, Salvatore, to be baptised. I told Anz. Nelson to do it, and he looks at me like I was crazy and tells me to do it, but in the end I exercised my senior companion authority and made him do it. After he gave the invite, Salvatore said yes! He said yes! He wasnt even an investigator! We set the day for June 4th, and are working towards it. There will be some trials, like him smoking ALOT and drinking coffee ALOT, but hey, that just means more fun for us, right?

The second biggest announcement is that we recieve Transfer calls tomorrow! Wild, huh? Can you believe I have been in Trapani for 2 transfers already, or almost 3 months? Man, time sure does fly by. My prediction is that Anziano Nelson leaves, I stay, and that I will probably end up training. I'm not saying that in a cocky way, its just what we are getting 17 new Anziani, and I am now officially one of the oldest missionaries now in the mission. That really is wild, huh?

Today, we have a lesson with Pietro! We are planning on inviting him today to be baptised, so wish us the Spirit, and... a little luck wouldnt hurt that much either. He has been progressing quite nicely, and we know he feels the difference. We shall see. Expect good news!

Anyways, I gotta go! Love ya all!

P.S. The Photo is of Erice on a REALLY cloudy day. I was literally walking inside a cloud. It was totally WICKED!

April Showers Bring May Flowers, But What to May Flowers Bring?....... Pilgrims.

Who knew that this week would be so awesome? Not me! It has seemed to fly right on by, but at the same time take forever. But hey, I guess thats why they say "Time flies when you're having fun." And some really interesting things happened too.

First off, for the photo. It all started a few days ago. I was inside, doing my laundry, when I realised that the room suddenly got really REALLY orange. My companion and I go outside, and we find the sky completely orange. The only thing that we could decide was happening was that Africa must by having a lot of sandstorms right now, and that what we were seeing was sand being blown in from the Sahara desert. Cool, huh?

Sunday night we passed by an old lady in the branch because we just felt like we should. We ended up being there for about an hour talking with her about everything because she has been feeling very depressed, especially about how her son has fallen away from the church. We talking about the plan of salvation, prophecies from Talmage, and Libia, and about how we can be happy no matter what, and about how happy we will be after this life. As we were leaving, she told me to make sure I wrote something in my journal tonight. I asked her what, and she told me to write that I had made a difference that day to someone. I cant explain how that made me feel, but it was good. It made me feel like a missionary.

Last night, for english class, we had such a ballin' spiritual thought. It was sweet! We started out by asking the class what a prophet was, and then we read out of the Bible dictionary what it said. And then we read Amos 3:7(God does nothing without prophets), 2 Chronicles 20:20(follow the Prophet, and you will prosper), Jacob 4:6(The prophets help faith testimonies grow) and then finally, we read Mormon 9:9-10 (God NEVER changes). After we read all those, we left them with this question "So if God never changes, he never does anything without a prophet, prophets help people, and that Prophets are so important, then why isnt there a Prophet today?" We told them we didnt want them to answer, just to think about the question. Marcello, a student, just kinda sat there stroking his chin, muttering to himself "hmmm.... thats a good question....". Tomorrow we are going to spring Modern Day Prophets on them muahahaha! We have such a good plan.

I am going to Skype call you at 8:00 a.m. your time sunday morning, so be ready! I hope things will all be worked out, and the Video function is approved again, so how lucky is that! I hope everyone can be there, Mom and Dad, and then whoever else can make it.

I am not going to say anything more, because I am going to see you all on sunday!
Love ya!

Ciao, Anziano Parry
